OKLAHOMA CITY - After capping one of the University of Oregon's greatest softball careers, senior Jessica Moore was among 18 players selected to the USA Softball National Team for three summer events.

The Sutter, Calif., native and Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year was chosen by national team coaches based on her play at a selection camp last week in Oklahoma City at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium.

The next two months, the squad will compete against many of the world's top teams in tournaments in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.

Following the World Cup of Softball in Oklahoma City (July 11-14), the team will play at the Canadian Open Fast Pitch International Championship in Surrey, B.C., Canada (July 16-22) and ISF World Championship/Pan American Games qualifier in San Juan, Puerto Rico (August 5-18).

Joining Moore on the squad, Duck head coach Mike White will serve as an assistant coach on the staff for the second straight season.

The coaching staff will also include head coach Ken Eriksen (Tampa, Fla./Head Coach at USF) and assistant coaches Laura Berg (Corvalis, Ore./head coach Oregon State), Suzy Brazney (Huntington Beach, Calif./head coach Golden West College), Howard Dobson (Orange, Texas/assistant coach at LSU) and Karen Weekly (Edmonds, Wash./co-head coach at Univ. of Tennessee).

Three other Pac-12 players made the roster - California's Valerie Arioto and Lindsey Ziegenhirt and Arizona State's Amber Freeman.

Moore's All-America teammate Alexa Peterson - a junior catcher/designated player from Salem, Ore., - also played in the training camp last week in Oklahoma City.

More information on the USA National Team and its summer events are available at the www.usasoftball.com website.

Moore wrapped up UO's greatest pitching career as the school record holder in wins (100), strikeouts (915), innings (903) and appearances (176).

Earlier this season, the #6 overall pick in the NPF professional draft was a Top-10 USA Softball Player of the Year Finalist, and a two-time National Player of the Week honoree in 2013.

Helping lead UO to its first Pac-12 title, the First-Team All-American also ranked 20th nationally in wins (27) and 38th in ERA (38th, 1.71). On Pac-12 stat charts, she stood top 10 in ERA (third), wins (third), starts (fourth, 35), saves (fifth, 2), innings (fifth, 200.2), strikeouts (sixth, 197), appearances (sixth, 42) and opposing batting average (seventh, .219).
