More on him in a second.
Along with Daniel, positions have been updated for incoming freshmen Tyree Robinson, a defensive back, and Tyrell Robinson, a linebacker. Each had been listed as an "athlete" upon signing with the team in February, and when first added to the roster here on GoDucks.com.
One other "athlete" to this point, Juwaan Williams, remains designated as such. He was a quarterback and safety as a high school senior, but could play a number of offensive positions along with defensive back.
Back to Daniel. It will be very interesting to watch his development over the next year. As the story notes, he has a redshirt season available, and the Ducks are so deep on the D line, it's easy to see him taking it.
After workouts Monday, he said he hopes to bring "speed and aggressiveness" to the position. Another guy in recent UO history, Dion Jordan, certainly was able to do so, but expecting Daniel to develop into an all-conference player and No. 3 overall NFL draft pick is completely unfair.
He's an interesting guy, very quiet in the interviews I've conducted with him. Thus, another factor making this an altogether intriguing storyline to watch over the next couple years.
