The long weekend for UO athletics begins this evening, and features four teams in action over the next three days.
First up is the soccer team, which hosts Washington State today at 7 p.m. to open Pac-12 play. The Ducks will be looking to break an offensive drought, which came about despite a momumental recent effort from forward Bri Pugh.
The volleyball team is also at home, Friday against Washington at 8 p.m. The No. 21 Ducks beat Oregon State on Wednesday thanks in part to another strong effort from senior Ari Williams to kick off her senior season of Pac-12 play. The department's marketing team also is rolling out a new feature for Friday's match, called "Fan Scan."
Also Friday, the UO cross country teams will be in action across the country in Boston, a road trip that will be educational in many ways for the program. The defending national champion UO women are preseason No. 3 despite the graduation of Jordan Hasay, and the up-and-coming men's program is No. 12 entering the fall.
And, of course, the football team will host California on Saturday at 7:37 p.m.
