Highlights from UO athletics events that didn't take place Saturday night in Autzen Stadium ...

The Oregon volleyball team continued its midseason surge, winning for the fourth time in five matches when the Ducks beat Utah on Sunday. That followed on the heels of a sweep of Colorado on Friday, and the Ducks look like they're finding their stride just in time.

The cross country teams went to Indiana to preview the NCAA championships course Saturday. Freshman Edward Cheserek finished fourth on the men's side to help the Ducks finish second as a team behind Colorado, while Megan Patrignelli led the UO women to sixth. A race for runners competing individually also was held, and Tanguy Pepiot of Oregon was first on the men's side.

On the soccer field, Oregon gave up two goals in the first 12 minutes at Washington to lose 2-1 on Thursday. Along with the well-played final 75 minutes, the Ducks could be encouraged by the first goal of the season from Kristen Parr, their leading scorer last season who finally got on the board this fall.

And in women's tennis, Jasmine Minor went 3-1 over the weekend in the Northwest Regional at Stanford. The men's team continues play through Tuesday at a tournament in Moraga, Calif.
