Oregon Head Coach Dana Altman
On the tough loss…
“The turnovers in the first half really put us in a hole. Offensively our numbers are great we just didn’t get enough shots because of the turnovers, especially in the first half.  So that was really a significant stat.”

On the final two shots…
“We had good looks. Johnathan [Loyd] had an uncontested jumper and Dominic [Artis] got all the way to the rim, we just didn’t make them. We put ourselves in that situation and just didn’t get it done.”

On bouncing back from three straight losses…
“We’ve got to regroup. After having a pretty good six week stretch we had an awful eight days. I mentioned earlier that we would have an opportunity to find out about our team when we faced adversity and we didn’t handle it very well this week.”

“We just have to worry about Oregon State. It’s a long season. We need to stop worrying about the conference race and just worry about getting better.”

OREGON PLAYER QUOTES

#0 Mike Moser
On how he feels about the last two shots Oregon had…
“They were good. Nine times out of ten Dominic [Artis] goes to the rim and finishes over the big guy and gets fouled. I think he did a good job pressuring the refs to make the call, but sometimes that is just how it goes.”

On what they will try to get done with a week of practice coming up before the next game…
“We will probably go back to some fundamental stuff to be honest. Defensively we are a little off whether it is communication or players not knowing what they are supposed to be doing. We are definitely a little off. Obviously, you can look at our offensive numbers and see we are pretty consistent there. I think we are lacking defensively right now.”

On whether or not the two-three zone allowed him to shoot so well…
“Yeah they lost me a couple times. Really Johnathan [Loyd] just had a lot of good penetration and made open shots for me.”

On how the team responds to a three game set back moving forward…
“We just have to keep playing. It’s a long season. This week is over with so we will move on to the next week. It was a bad week. It happens.”

On the current team’s mood…
Everybody is frustrated. Nobody likes to lose. We know what we have to do. We need to get back together as a team in practice and work hard.”

STANFORD QUOTES

Head Coach Johnny Dawkins
Opening statement…
“We hadn’t won a Pac-12 game, so it’s good to get one under your belt. The way we did it was really good because I felt the guys had to really dig deep and make some plays at the end to secure the lead.”

On the effect of a players meeting after the Oregon State game…
“I thought we did (see a different Stanford team today). You could see it in their eyes right from the start. I thought the execution was good. We only had seven turnovers as a team that turns it over at least 15 times a game. That says a lot about our poise and ability to handle the pressure. I was really proud of them.”

On Oregon’s 3-point barrage in the second half…
“Moser had about four three-pointers in a row, and it was like, okay here we go. They’re a good team and we’ve watched them play a number of times. They’re going to have a great season this year. We just had to try and defend as best as we could because we know they’re going to make some shots like that. We just didn’t want to let what they did disrupt us on the other end. They’re going to make tough shots - they’ve done that against everyone. We just had to stay the course and follow the game plan.”

On their zone defense…
“I thought it did (effect Oregon). They did take some contested threes and knocked a few down, as we expected. Our length was good, especially with Nastic in. Give Oregon credit. They never quit. The kept fighting, and that’s the kind of program Dana (Altman) has.”

STANFORD PLAYER QUOTES

#21 Anthony Brown
On getting his confidence back after a poor game against OSU…
“After Thursday night I just had to move forward. I haven’t had a game like that all season. I told the team I felt like I let them down. During this game, I just wanted to make sure my energy level was there.”

On what the win means…
“It means a lot. We split on the road and now we’re coming home for two games. I think we have to use this as a momentum-builder.”

On scoring against Oregon’s defense…
“We knew we could score on them, but our biggest focus was to slow them down. They average 90 points, something like that, so we wanted to slow it down and use our size advantage.”
