TEMPE, Ariz. – After dropping its first two matches on the road in Arizona, the Oregon women’s tennis team rebounded with a, 4-1, win over Northern Arizona Monday morning at the Whitman Tennis Center. Oregon swept the doubles point for the first time since it’s, 7-0, win over Eastern Washington back on January 26.

Playing with Allie Hueffner for the first time in dual play and only the third time all year, Sofia Hager and A. Hueffner clinched the doubles point for Oregon (7-7, 1-3 Pac-12), defeating Northern Arizona’s No. 3 pair of Tatum Rochin and Jordan Denesik, 8-3.

Lina Åkesson snapped her four-matching losing streak with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 win over Sarah Spruch at No. 5 singles to give UO a 2-0 lead in the team score. T. Rochin cut Oregon’s lead, to 2-1, for NAU (5-12, 4-2 Big Sky) with a 6-2, 6-1 over Kadie Hueffner at No. 6 singles before Hager took down Denesik at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-2.

Nicole Long clinched the match for UO after she defeated Northern Arizona’s Johanna Vang 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles to put Oregon back in the win column.

Jasmine Minor was leading Emilia Box at No. 2 singles 6-3, 4-4 while Hailey Rochin led A. Hueffner 6-3, 5-4 when the match was decided.
