EUGENE, Ore. - After hitting a whopping .857 in a three-game sweep of Utah, softball senior Alexa Peterson was named Pac-12 Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Peterson hit .857 (6-for-7) with five runs, two doubles, a triple, a grand slam and 13 runs batted in over the course of the series.
The Salem, Ore., native posted six RBIs in the second game of the series on Sunday, which is tied for the fifth most in UO single-game history and was the most in a game for the Ducks since 2008.
Of her four walks on the weekend, two were intentional as the Utes tried to avoid her 1.857 slugging percentage, meaning Peterson averaged nearly two bases in each at-bat.
This is the second Pac-12 Player of the Week honor for Peterson. She also won last seaso on April 15. It's the 45th time a Ducks has taken home the award.
Oregon wraps up a five-game road trip today with a doubleheader against Southern Utah and BYU in Provo, Utah.
