Joseph Young announced Tuesday he plans to play his senior season at Oregon.

The Houston native was a second-team all-Pac-12 selection in 2013-14, and the leading scorer for the Ducks in a 24-10 season that ended in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

"Great talk w/ the fam," Young wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. "Decided the best thing for me is to get my Degree and play my last year as an Oregon Duck #1moreyear #Ducknation"

Young, a transfer from Houston last season, averaged 18.9 points per game, scoring in double figures in 30 of 34 appearances and reaching 20 in 14 different games. He was the Pac-12's second-leading scorer and best free-throw shooter, at 88.1 percent.

Based on the current roster, Young will be one of two seniors in 2014-15, along with guard Jalil Abdul-Bassit.

"We're excited to have him back," UO coach Dana Altman said.

Young holds Matthew Knight Arena single-game records with 36 points, set against Western Carolina, and six steals, set against USC. He was Oregon's leading scorer against both Oregon State and UCLA in the Pac-12 Tournament, and was named to the all-tournament team.
