NAPA, Calif. -- Junior Cassy Isagawa fired consecutive rounds of 71 (-1) to lead the Oregon women’s golf team on Monday in the inaugural Silverado Showdown - an event co-hosted by Oregon and Colorado. Isagawa is tied for fifth individually, while Oregon carded rounds of 296 (+8) and 298 (+10) on the Silverado Resort North Course in Napa, Calif.
Led by their two-time All-Pac-12 selection in Isagawa, head coach Ria Scott’s Ducks are tied for sixth out of 15 teams entering tomorrow’s final round. UO bested four ranked teams with a two-round total of 594 (+18).
With pristine conditions for the first running of the tournament, held at the Silverado Resort and Spa, No. 11 Washington leads the loaded field at five-over par through two rounds. Arizona’s Lindsey Weaver leads all individuals with a 36-hole score of 136 (-8). Four of the top five teams through Monday’s opening rounds are Pac-12 teams.
Isagawa carded her 15th and 16th at or below par rounds of the season, managing the par 72, 6,196 yard course admirably. The Wailuku, Hawaii, native’s first round consisted of 15 pars with birdies on holes No. 4 and 18. In the afternoon round, Isagawa used a stretch of three straight birdies on the back nine to card another 71. In both rounds, she played the front nine one-under (35) and the back nine even par (36). Lowering her team-best round average to 72.25, Isagawa is in the hunt for her sixth top five finish of the season.
Freshman Cathleen Santoso is tied for 22nd individually with a 36-hole score of 148 (+4). The Sydney, Australia, was in the top five through round one after firing a two-under par, 70. Santoso made three birdies on the front and three birdies on the back nine to notch her 12th at or below par round of the season. Santoso got to three-under on the tournament in round two, but fell off pace and carded a 78 (+6) in the afternoon round.
Sophomore Caroline Inglis used steady rounds of 75 (+3) to tie for 33rd with a two-round mark of 150 (+6). With birdies on holes 10 and 18, the Eugene native went even par on the back side of her first round. Inglis made 13 pars and two birdies in her second round.
Freshman Marcella Pranovia improved six strokes in her second round and jumped nine spots to 49th individually. After opening with an 80 (+8), the Bali, Indonesia, native used two birdies and 13 pars to fire a 74 (+2) in the afternoon.
Junior Cali Hipp carded an 81 (+9) in both rounds and is tied for 69th with a two-round card of 162 (+18). The Caldwell, Idaho, native made 10 pars in the first round and 11 pars in the afternoon.
Tee times for tomorrow’s final round will go off at 8:30 a.m. (PT) at the Silverado Resort and Spa. The Ducks will be paired with No. 46 Wisconsin and fellow co-host Colorado, teeing off on holes eight through 10. Live results are available at golfstat.com
