OJAI, Calif. – The second day of the 2014 Pac-12 Tennis Championships saw all three of its doubles teams fall out of contention on Friday at the Ojai Valley Athletic Club. The Ducks also had players fall in the consolation matches of the singles bracket on Friday with Maja Salibasic picking up the lone victory.

In the doubles championship bracket, Lana Buttner and Nicole Long fell to Cal’s fourth-seeded pair of Lynn Chi and Anett Schutting 8-4.

Allie Hueffner and Kadie Hueffner fell to Kassidy Jump and Joanna Smith of Arizona State by a score of 8-3 in the round of 16 in the doubles invitational flight. Lena Macomson and Salbasic also fell in the round of 16 to second-seeded Luisa Gerstner da Rosa and Sarh Richter of Utah 8-2.

In the consolation bracket, Salibasic was able to take down Ashley Tiefel from Colorado after being down match point to win 6-1, 2-6 (11-9). Salibasic was the only Duck to register a win on Friday in both singles and doubles.

K. Hueffner dropped a close match that went into the tiebreaker 2-6, 6-3 (10-6) to Dajana Ognjenovic of Washington State. Twin sister, A. Hueffner also fell in the tiebreaker to Inge Henrikx of Arizona in the consolation bracket 6-3, 3-6 (10-4) while Macomson lost in straight sets to Washington’s Natalie Allen 6-1, 6-3.
