EUGENE, Ore. – Junior Bri Pugh has been selected to the U.S. Under-23 Women’s National Team’s second training camp of the year, head coach Steve Swanson announced Tuesday. Pugh is one of 26 players that will train with the U-23 squad at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif., from June 7-14.

A native of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Pugh has started in 49 out of 52 matches for the Oregon women’s soccer team in the past three years. A speedy forward, Pugh has tallied 20 points at Oregon. Swanson called Pugh to the camp as a defender, however, where her pace and athleticism also fits the mold of an outside back.

Pugh earned honorable mention All-Pac-12 accolades last season as the only player on the team to register multiple goals and multiple assists. She started in all 18 games and led the team in shots and shots on goal. Pugh was also named to the All-Pac-12 Freshman Team in 2011.

Pugh is one of eight players selected to the camp as a defender.  The entire camp roster is made up current collegiate student-athletes or players who played their final season seasons this past fall. The camp will boast nine players hailing from the Pac-12.
