Oregon (1-1-0) plays host to Saint Mary’s (2-0-0) Friday at 7 p.m. and Loyola Marymount (2-0-0) Sunday at 1 p.m. as the Ducks open their home slate for 2014 with the Oregon Nike Tournament.

SCOUTING THE GAELS
Saint Mary’s earned two shutouts to open the season: a 2-0 win over Albany and a 4-0 victory over Saint Joseph’s. Senior Vicki Shimkus leads the Gaels with five points (1G, 3A). Sophomore goalkeeper Julia McDonald has made six saves through two games. Saint Mary’s was voted to finish the season in seventh place in the West Coast Conference.

The Ducks and Gaels are tied all-time with a 1-1-1 record. The teams last met in 2008.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
Loyola Marymount opened the 2014 slate with a 3-1 win over New Mexico State and a 2-0 shutout over Cleveland State. Junior forward Callie Taylor (2G) and senior midfielder Brianna Medved (3A) pace the Lions so far this season.

LMU and Oregon last met in 2009, and the Lions hold the 2-1-0 series advantage.

LAST TIME OUT
The Ducks opened the 2014 season with a road trip to Wisconsin. Oregon dropped its first match to Wisconsin, 2-0, in Madison Friday evening. The Badgers narrowly outshot the Ducks, 15-12, and the teams were tied with six corner kicks each. Junior forward Kristen Parr led Oregon with four shots while senior goalkeeper Abby Steele recorded two saves. The Ducks rebounded quickly to beat Milwaukee, 2-0, on Sunday. Senior forward Bri Pugh and senior midfielder Kiyomi Cook each scored for Oregon, with Pugh and senior midfielder Lilly Archer each notching assists. Steele again made two saves.

RECORD WATCH
After making four total saves last weekend, senior goalkeeper Abby Steele now has 248 career saves. With five more, Steele will be tied for third in the Oregon record book in career saves. Steele is also now just two shutouts away from tying the Oregon record (16).
