A junior in 2007-08, the two-sport athlete continues to emerge as one of Oregon's top offensive linemen and is also a two-time regional shot put veteran. Returns as team's second-best shot putter (based on personal bests) and one of two that have thrown 55 feet or better (with Colin Veldman). Will set sights on the regional standard of 55-1 1/2 outdoors in '08. For one of the nation's top football teams, started all 12 regular season games at offensive right guard in fall of '07, and showed his flexibility after playing center and offensive tackle as a reserve in eight games in '06 and three games in '05. His 2008 spring track and field availability will again depend on academic and football commitments. As a prep was a two-time USA Junior Championships finalist. Won California state shot put title as senior in 2004 and ranked ninth among preps that season (64-0 1/4-tie).

Fall 2007: Started all 12 regular season football games at right guard also helped team win the Sun Bowl handily over South Florida, 56-21. Was singled out as one of the team's Offensive Players of the Week for Arizona State. Took part in a season-high 100 snaps at Arizona and 94 plays at Washington.

2006-07: Regional / Pac-10 Qualifier (Shot Put). Led team outdoors in shot put (55-4 1/4) and improved personal best 1 1/2 inches as a sophomore. Ended season with his third career +55-foot effort in the Road to Eugene meet as the top collegiate finisher in field featuring many of the nation’s top post-collegians. Opened season with win in the Oregon Preview (55-2 3/4) and tied his preseason best, and closed regular season with another win in the Oregon Twilight (53-6 1/2). In late May rankings, ranked 17th in the Pac-10 and 30th in the region based on season bests. Early in outdoor slate in the Pepsi Team Invitational, boosted team to victory in the scored meet format with his collegiate discus debut (sixth, 143-4). Indoors, opened season with a two-foot, two-inch shot put personal best (fifth, 56-4) also his highest placing of the indoor season. Claimed second straight top-12 Mountain Pacific Championships shot put placing (12th). Altogether, competed in nine events outdoors (shot put 7, discus 2) and three shot put competitions indoors. Personal / Season Bests: Outdoors Shot Put 16.87m (55-4 1/4) (PR), Oregon Invitational, Eugene, Ore. (4/21/07). Discus 43.70m (143-4) (PR), Pepsi Team Invitational, Eugene, Ore. (4/7/07). Indoors 17.18m (56-4 1/2) (PR), UW Indoor Invitational, Seattle, Wash. (1/27/07).

2005-06: Regional Qualifier (Shot Put). Was one of team’s busiest freshmen as he focused on spring football while he regularly competed on the weekends in the shot put circle. At end of campaign, made debut Pac-10 Championships shot put debut (13th, 52-10 3/4), then capped season in West Regional. Earned regional invitation thanks to 3 foot, 1 3/4-inch season best three weeks before in the regular season finale, the Oregon Twilight (first, 55-2 3/4). Indoors, topped 54 feet in his final indoor contest, the Mountain Pacific Championships (11th, 54-2). Ended season ranked second on team in the shot put both outdoors (55-2 3/4) and indoors (54-2) and was team’s top freshman in the event. Altogether competed in shot put in nine contests six outdoors and three indoors. In fall, played in three football games for Ducks, and all wins (Montana, Washington, Oregon State). Personal/Season Bests: Outdoors Shot Put - 16.83m (then-55-2 3/4) (PR), Oregon Twilight, Eugene, Ore. (5/5/06). Indoors Shot Put - 16.51m (54-2) (then-PR), Mountain Pacific Championships, Seattle, Wash. (2/25/06).

Prep: Competed in shot put in USA Junior Championships in 2003 (ninth, 57-6 1/2) and 04 (seventh, 58-11 1/4). Won state meet as senior (63-5 1/2, 64-0 1/4-p), and ranked 10th nationally on national season best list. Threw junior best in state meet (second, 60-3 3/4), and ranked seventh in state among season bests. Final prep best as 65-11 3/4. In football, was a 2003 PrepStar all-region standout as well as first-team all-Pac-5 League lineman. Also played tight end and fullback, and hauled in 14 receptions for 151 yards his senior season as a second-team all-county standout (San Luis Obispo Telegram-Tribune).
