A fast, tough and agile performer, George Christensen helped the Ducks post a 23-7 record during his tenure. Oregon's second player in the program's history to earn first-team All-America honors, the lineman often was on the field for the entire game as both an offensive and defensive stalwart. Following his Oregon career, the offensive tackle on the Register-Guard's all-time University of Oregon team participated in the 1930 East-West Shrine game before playing for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League.
