Jim Barnett
Position: Hall of Fame Inductee
Other Position: 1994 Inductee, Basketball (1963-1966)

He didn’t play on Oregon’s most successful teams, but his accomplishments didn’t go unnoticed. When he peeled off his uniform for the last time to conclude his three-year career, he had surpassed Charlie Warren as the Ducks’ all-time leading
scorer, pointing to his enduring popularity with the fans and teammates. “I’m sure Jim was responsible for many of my points,” said a compatriot. “He often got the ball to me when opponents double-teamed him.”

He averaged 17.7 points during his career, leading Oregon in scoring as a junior and senior and rebounding as a sophomore and junior. Despite one winning season with the Ducks, he was an all-America selection and played in the NABC All-Star
contest. After selection by Boston in the first round of the 1966 NBA draft, he played 11 professional seasons with seven clubs, including the Portland Trail Blazers with whom he averaged 18.8 points in 1970-71.
