Position: Hall of Fame Inductee
Other Position: 1994 Inductee, Basketball (1968-1971)

The Kamikaze Kids may have taken it to an art form, but it was his play that began bringing McArthur Court to its ultimate reputation. He was the star of a group of Californians that brought life back to Oregon basketball with consecutive 17-9 records and an upset of No. 1-ranked UCLA in 1970, quite an accomplishment for a “skinny surfer guy” who would lead the Pacific-8 Conference in scoring two straight years.

He held Oregon’s one-year scoring record for 20 years, recorded the Ducks’ highest mark ever (27.3) in conference games and is the only player in history to average more than 20 points in two different seasons. His career mark of 21.1 for the 1968-71 period would be the best in school history if not for the advent of the three-point field goal. A first-round NBA draft choice of the Baltimore Bullets, he is one of only two players to rank among Oregon’s all-time leaders in scoring and rebounding.
