Track Town, USA, will be the destination for the entire collegiate season with the NCAA Championships returning to Historic Hayward Field for the first time since 2001. It will be the city's 10th time overall hosting the national championships as that meet highlights another excellent season of competition in Track Town. Tickets are available at www.goducks.com or 1-800-WEB-FOOT.
The first chance to see the 2010 track and field team at home will be the traditional Oregon Preview on March 20. On April 10, the Pepsi Team Invitational brings the defending NCAA men's and women's champion Texas A&M to compete in an exciting scoring meet with Oregon, Illinois, Missouri and Washington.
A week later, the Men of Oregon host the UCLA Bruins in a dual meet for the third straight season. The home crowd carried the Ducks to a dramatic win during the 2009 dual with the Bruins.
Then the Oregon Relays, presented by Oregon Community Credit Union, will feature some of the nation’s best professional, collegiate, and high school athletes, April 30-May 1. Following the pattern of the last several years, Friday night will include a Distance Carnival and field events while a Saturday high performance session will include the sprints, jumps, hurdles, and field events.
The final regular season home meet will be Take a Kid to the Meet Night, featuring a Kids’ Half-Lapper and other youth activities, at the Oregon Twilight on May 8.
The collegiate season culminates in the 2010 NCAA Championships June 9-12 at Historic Hayward Field. In 2009, both team titles came down to the wire, with the men's race coming down to the final event. 2010 host Oregon was the men's and women's runner-up to Texas A&M a year ago as the 2010 Championships could be even closer.
After the collegiate season, many world-famous international athletes return to Eugene for the annual Prefontaine Classic, which this year joins the Diamond League and will be held on July 3.
Coaches and athletes interested in more information are encouraged to contact Assistant Athletic Director Michael Reilly, the meet director for all home track and field events, via email at OregonMeets@gmail.com.
More 2010 home meet info will be updated on this page as soon as it's available in the upcoming months.
