Masoli's Marks, Thursday Night Crew on Tap
Sunday, December 14, 7:00 a.m. ET
With Finals Week behind them, the Ducks have narrowed their collective focus to preparing to face Oklahoma State in the Holiday Bowl. The Big 12 Cowboys are an early 4-point favorite, and one Yahoo! Sports poll I saw showed that 80 percent of voters were picking the 'Pokes to win. Clearly, Oregon still has plenty to prove and the early bowl practices thus far have demonstrated that the Ducks are still hungry and anxious to continue their quest for 10 wins.
ESPN Broadcast Team Set
The 5 p.m. (PT) Holiday Bowl broadcast on ESPN will feature the network's regular Thursday Night Football crew with Chris Fowler handling play-by-play duties, Craig James and Jesse Palmer providing analysis, and Erin Andrews reporting from the sidelines. It was essentially this crew, with Doug Flutie instead of the former Bachelor Palmer, that called last year's Thursday game when Dennis Dixon went down against Arizona and took UO's national title hopes with him. My take: If Oregon wins, there was some kind of Flutie curse in place last year. If a key Duck is injured and Oklahoma State wins, I'm blaming Fowler or Erin.
Masoli Nearing Record Territory
With 612 rushing yards, Jeremiah Masoli needs just 32 more to tie Reggie Ogburn’s UO quarterback record of 644 in a single season, set in 1979. Masoli, who has seen action in 11 games (nine starts), including brief appearances against Washington, Utah State and Boise State, surpassed Dixon’s former second-place mark of 583 with his 53-yard effort in the Civil War.
More on Masoli
Masoli finished with regular season as the fourth-best passer in the Pac-10 in terms of passing efficiency, but possibly the most impressive QB stat he had is not one officially tracked by the league. Masoli was the conference's best in ratio between pass attempts and interceptions.
Quarterback, Pass Attempts per INT
Willie Tuitama (ARIZ), 45.5
Rudy Carpenter (ASU), 39.0
Kevin Riley (CAL), 36.8
Mark Sanchez (USC), 33.1

The Ducks will practice seven more times, including today, before heading to San Diego on Christmas Day. They will have four additional workouts at San Diego State prior to Dec. 30.
