EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon will play 12 games against teams that advanced to the postseason last year, including Georgetown, Nebraska and 2006 NCAA runner-up UCLA, as part of its 2006-07 men’s basketball schedule that was released Monday, according to head coach Ernie Kent.

The Ducks open the season with a pair of exhibitions at McArthur Court against Lewis & Clark (Nov. 1) and Southern Oregon (Nov. 6), before beginning the regular season by hosting the Black Coaches Association Classic Nov. 10-12. Oregon will play Lehigh, Cal State Northridge and Portland State in that order during the round-robin tournament.

The four-game home stand wraps up with UC Irvine on Nov. 17.

Oregon then takes to the road for games at Rice (Nov. 20) and Georgetown (Nov. 29) to wrap up November. The Hoyas advanced to the NCAA’s Sweet 16 in 2005 before losing to eventual national champion Florida.

The Ducks will not leave the state during December with the annual Pape’ Jam following finals week on Dec. 9. Oregon will face Nebraska, a 2006 National Invitation Tournament team, in that game at the Rose Garden in Portland.

Then it’s back to McArthur Court for contests with Bethune-Cookman (Dec. 11), Eastern Washington (Dec. 15), Idaho State (Dec. 17), Mercer (Dec. 23) and Portland (Dec. 28).

Oregon closes the month with the Pac-10 opener Dec. 30 at Oregon State.

In the non-conference season, the Ducks will play three teams for the first time -- Lehigh, Eastern Washington and Mercer. Eastern Washington is the only Division I team from the Northwest that Oregon previously hasn’t faced .

Also, Oregon will meet Nebraska for the first time since the 1987-88 season, and will play UC Irvine for the first time since the 1982-83 season.

The Ducks’ non-conference schedule has a regional flavor to it, with their most opponents from the West -- six -- in four years. Oregon also played six regional non-conference opponents in 2002-03.

Ten Pac-10 games against 2005-06 postseason teams await Oregon in the new year.

The Ducks host USC on Jan. 4 and NCAA runner-up UCLA on Jan. 6. Then it’s the trip to the desert with games at NCAA participant Arizona on Jan. 11 and Arizona State on Jan. 13.

Oregon returns home the following weekend to host a pair of postseason teams in Stanford (NIT) on Jan. 18 and California (NCAA) on Jan. 20.

The first half of the Pac-10 season wraps up with games at Washington, which made the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2006, on Jan. 25, and at Washington State on Jan. 27.

In February, the Ducks travel to the Los Angeles and San Francisco schools, while they will host the Arizona and Washington schools.

Oregon concludes the regular season by hosting Oregon State on March 3.

The four-day Pac-10 Conference Tournament runs March 7-10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
