2011 West Coast League All-Star Game

SUMMER 2011

Helped the Cowlitz Black Bears (28-26) play within a game of reaching the West Coast League playoffs…played with UO teammates Kyle Garlick, Jeff Gold, and Brett Thomas…was ranked by Baseball America as the No. 8 prospect in the WCL, and was ranked by Perfect Game as the No. 18 prospect in the league…playing in the outfield, batted .188 with 20 runs scored, six doubles, four triples, 10 RBIs, 20 walks and five stolen bases while tallying two assists…was also named to the West Coast League All-Star Game…the Black Bears also won the Jim Dietz Sportsmanship Award, given to the team showing exceptional sportsmanship.

Selected in the 25th round (760 overall) by the Houston Astros.

HIGH SCHOOL

A 2011 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Modesto, Calif…helped the Raiders to their 15th consecutive Western Athletic Conference title in 2011 with a 23-5 overall record and 13-2 mark in league…finished his career at Central Catholic playing in 114 games, batting .435 with 42 doubles and 19 home runs, and was successful in 44-of-50 base stealing attempts…career pitching record was 25-6 with a 2.10 ERA…following his senior season was named the Modesto Bee Baseball Player of the Year, was named one of five finalists for the Modesto Bee’s Athlete of the Year, and was named the MVP of the WAC…in 2011 was also named to the Cal-Hi All-State Medium School First Team for the second time, and was named to the MaxPreps California All-State Team after batting .388 with a league-leading .800 slugging percentage…also finished in the WAC’s top five with a .522 on-base percentage, 22 runs driven in, four home runs and nine stolen bases…added 39 runs scored…normally an outfielder, played shortstop – as a lefthander – filling in for an injured teammate…on the mound led the league with a 1.65 ERA and finished third with 76 strikeouts…was ranked the 18th prospect in the country, and the fifth recruit in the state of California by Perfect Game…Baseball America also ranked Flamion at No. 18 in the nation in the publication’s evaluation of the 2011 class…entering his senior season was named a 2011 Louisville Slugger and Rawlings Preseason All-American…as a junior in 2010 led Central Catholic to the 2010 Division V title game before falling to Escalon High School...was named to the 2010 MaxPreps California All-State Second Team…was also named to the 2010 Cal-Hi Sports Small Schools All-State Team…during the summer of 2010 played in the Aflac All-American High School Classic in San Diego at Petco Park…in the game, went 1-for-3 with a single and RBI for the West…also played for Milwaukee Brewers in the 2010 Area Code Games…was named to the Modesto Bee All-Stanislaus District First Team after batting .465 with 34 runs, 37 RBIs, eight doubles, seven home runs, 20 stolen bases, a .538 on-base percentage and an .826 slugging percentage his junior season…on the mound in 2010 posted a 9-2 record with a 2.76 ERA...a two-sport standout at Central Catholic, as a wide receiver on the football field, helped the Raiders to the second round of the 2010 CIF Sac-Joaquin Division IV playoffs…was second on the team with 33 receptions and 705 yards, while also scoring seven touchdowns and averaging 58.8 receiving yards per game…in 2009 helped Central Catholic to a 11-2 record and Western League title with an undefeated record of 5-0 on the gridiron…in 2008 was selected to the 14U USA Baseball national team.
