EUGENE, Ore. – Seventeen former Oregon Ducks are currently playing professional baseball. One is in Triple-A, five in Double-A, two in Class-A (Advanced), three in Class-A, two in short-season A, one in Rookie League, two in Independent League and one in the Canadian American League. Links for all 17 are listed below along with the team they are currently with, the league they play in, the level of professional baseball and the organization each player belongs to.

Zack Thornton, Las Vegas 51s, Triple-A Pacific Coast League, New York Mets

A two-year letterman at Oregon who was drafted in the 23rd round in 2010 … Finished the 2013 season with a 7-3 record and 2.63 ERA between Triple-A Indianapolis, Double-A Altoona and Class-A (Advanced) Bradenton … Started the 2014 season with Indianapolis where he went 2-0 with a 1.23 ERA in four appearances ... Traded to the New York Mets on April 18 along with a player to be named later in exchange for 1B Ike Davis … Reported to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Tyler Anderson, Tulsa Drillers, Double-A  Texas  League, Colorado Rockies

A three-year letterman at Oregon who was a first-round draft pick  by the Rockies in 2011 … Finished the 2013 season 4-3 with a 2.81 ERA between Tri-City (Class-A Short) and Modesto (Class-A Advanced) … Began the 2014 season in Double-A Tulsa … Currently ranked 10th on the Rockies Top 20 Prospect list.

Jimmie Sherfy, Mobile Baybears, Double-A Southern League, Arizona Diamondbacks

A two-time All-American at Oregon who played for the Ducks from 2011-2013 … Finished the 2013 season 1-1 with a 1.04 ERA and seven saves between Class-A (Short) Hillsboro and Class-A South Bend … Began the 2014 season in Class-A (Advanced) Visalia … Promoted to Double-A Mobile on May 6th after going 2-0 with a 3.27 ERA and six saves in 11 games with Visalia ... Currently ranked 14th on the Diamondbacks Top 20 Prospects list.

Jack Marder, Jackson Generals, Double-A Southern League, Seattle Mariners

A two-year letterman at Oregon who was drafted in the 16th round of the 2011 draft by the Seattle Mariners … Spent entire 2013 season with the Jackson Generals in Double-A where he batted .218 with four home runs and 22 RBI ... Began the 2014 season in Jackson.

Scott McGough, Jacksonville Suns, Double-A Southern League, Miami Marlins

A three-year letterman at Oregon who was drafted in the fifth round in 2011 … Finished the 2013 season 4-3 with a 2.63 ERA between Double-A Jacksonville and Triple-A New Orleans … Began the 2014 season with Double-A Jacksonville … Will miss the 2014 season after having surgery.

KC Serna, Reading Fightin Phils, Double-A Eastern League, Philadelphia Phillies

A three-year letterman at Oregon who was picked in the 42nd round by the Cleveland Indians in the 2011 draft … Finished the 2013 season batting .304 with one home run and 45 RBI in 100 games for Amarillo ... Signed with the Philadelphia Phillies in February of 2014 … Began the 2014 season with Class-A (Advanced) Clearwater, but was promoted to Double-A Reading at the end of June.

Madison Boer, Fort Myers Miracle, Class A (Advanced) Florida State League, Minnesota Twins

A three-year letterman at Oregon who was picked in the second round of the 2011 draft … Finished the 2013 season with a record of 2-1 and a 5.13 ERA between Class-A (Advanced) Fort Myers and Class-A Cedar Rapids.

Ryon Healy, Stockton Ports, Class A (Advanced) California League, Oakland A’s

A three-year letterman at Oregon who was drafted in the third round of the 2013 draft … Finished the 2013 season hitting .230 with six home runs and 29 RBI in 47 games between the Arizona Athletics and Class-A (Short) Vermont … Began the 2014 season in Class-A (Advanced) Stockton.

Christian Jones, Augusta GreenJackets, Class A South Atlantic League, San Francisco Giants

A three-year letterman at Oregon who was an 18th round pick in 2013 … Finished the 2013 season 2-0 with a 2.84 ERA between the Arizona Rookie League and Class-A (Short) Salem-Keizer … Began the 2014 season with Class-A Augusta.

Jake Reed, Cedar Rapid Kernels, Class A Midwest League, Minnesota Twins

A three-year letterman at Oregon who was picked in the fifth round of the 2014 draft … Earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors as a junior … Finished career with an 18-11 record and a 3.00 ERA and 13 saves ... Started summer in Appalachian Rookie League but promoted to Class A Midwest League after four appearances.

Brett Thomas, Clinton LumberKings, Midwest League, Seattle Mariners

A three-year letterman at Oregon who was picked in the 21st round of the 2013 draft … Batted .269 with two RBI in just eight games after being activated late in the season after finishing rehab on an injured wrist … Began the 2014 season with the Everett AquaSox, but joined the Clinton LumberKings in early July.

Cole Wiper, Hickory Crawdads, Class A South Atlantic League, Texas Rangers

A 10th round draft pick in 2013 after his freshman season at Oregon … Finished the 2013 season 3-1 with a 2.13 ERA for the Rangers Arizona League team … Began the 2014 season with Class-A Hickory.

Darrell Hunter, Spokane Indians, Class A Short Season Northwest League, Texas Rangers

A three-year letterman at Oregon who was signed as a free agent after his senior season in 2014 … Finished career with a 6-1 record and a 3.24 ERA while making 48 appearances out of the bullpen during his final two seasons with the Ducks.

Tommy Thorpe, Boise Hawks, Class A Short Season Northwest League, Chicago Cubs

A three-year letterman at Oregon who was picked in the eighth round of the 2014 draft … A two-time first-team All-Pac-12 Conference selection … Finished career with a 20-9 record and a 2.14 ERA … Assigned to the Mesa Cubs of the Arizona League, pitching two scoreless innings with two strikeouts ... Joined the Boise Hawks as of July 12, 2014.

Kellen Moen, Amarillo Sox, Independent American League

A two-year letterman at Oregon who was picked in the seventh round of the 2011 draft … Released by the Royals organization after finishing the  2013 season 1-4 with a 5.42 ERA for Wilmington in 35 games … Signed with the Amarillo Sox of the Independent American League in Spring of 2014.

Danny Pulfer, Gary SouthShore Railcats, Independent American League

A three-year letterman at Oregon who was picked in the 19th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2011 draft … Signed with the Gary SouthShore Railcats of the Independent League in April of 2013 after spending two seasons in the Diamondbacks system … Finished the 2013 season batting .284 with one home run and 33 RBI … Will begin the 2014 with Gary.

Joey Housey, Quebec Capitals, Canadian American League

A four-year letterman at Oregon who was a 27th round draft pick in 2012 … Finished the 2013 season 2-1 with a 3.05 ERA between Bakersfield (Class-A Advanced), Dayton (Class-A) and Billings (Rookie) … Released by the Reds organization after the 2013 season … Will play the 2014 season with the Quebec Capitals of the Canadian American League.
