Seattle 6, Oregon 4

Sunday, March 14th 2010

Oregon Head Coach George Horton

“We didn’t command the at bats very well.”

“Our team showed better discipline at batting practice this past week.”

“I have to tip my cap to the Seattle group. For a first year program they were battling through. They rolled up their sleeves and came out and played baseball today.”

“The refreshing thing about this sport is that anything can happen.”

“We just got into a funk. But, we didn’t just show up, I think the attitude was there too.”

“We should have been able to create more pitching support.”

“Even with this loss, the mentality is still there. The Ducks gave everything mentally, but we just weren’t there physically.”

On the Seattle pitcher:

“We didn’t put a lot of pressure on him.”

“I think our will to win was just as good as it was on Friday or Saturday.”

#12 Eddie Rodriguez

“We squared up the balls real well, but sometimes things just don’t go your way.”

On the Seattle pitcher:

“He was hitting his spots. A few could have gone either way. He changed speeds well and pitched pretty well today.”

“I thought we adjusted well last night, but this pitcher just kept hitting his spots and kept us off balance.”

“We have to keep doing what we are doing. We can’t let this game get us down, we still have games left to play. We just need to keep the same approach, and hopefully more runs will come our way.”

On the previous winning streak:

“Obvciously the winning streak was good,  it brought the team together. But sometimes you need a loss to help you to reevaluate what you need to fix. Baseball has a lot of twists, and we just need to go out and play baseball every day.”

#47 Alex Keudell

“My fastball was really inconsistent today, it was either up or down not in the zone like I wanted it to be. There are going to be days like that, we just have to get through it.”

On what to do after the loss:

“We just have to pick some guys up. I can’t blame anybody but myself for this game.”
