WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Oregon starting catcher Eddie Rodriguez was named Pac-10 Baseball Player of the Week, for the week of March 1-7, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.

In the series opening 7-2 win at Fresno State on Friday night, Rodriguez was again 3-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBIs and a home run. During Oregon’s deciding game three that won the Fresno State series on Saturday as UO edged Fresno State, 5-2, Rodriguez was 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
In Sunday’s 8-3 victory that concluded the series sweep, Rodriguez was 1-for-4 with an RBI and run scored. Rodriguez scored the first run of the game for the Ducks, and in the fourth his RBI single tied the game at 2-2.
During the four-game series sweep of Fresno, Rodriguez batted .636 (7-for-11) and scored five runs with three RBIs and one home run. He had a .909 slugging percentage and a .636 on-base percentage.
