AS A JUNIOR • 2009
Oregon’s starting right fielder the majority of the season, appeared in 42 games and made 36 starts (34 right field, 2 left field)...hit .207 (23-for-111) with 10 RBIs, four doubles, two triples, two home runs and 10 runs scored...finished second on the team with 10 stolen bases...hit the majority of the season in 9th spot of the lineup, but also had stints at the 5th, 6th and 7th positions...tied for the team lead with four multiple-RBI games...tied for third on the roster with seven two-out RBIs...began the season on a four-game hitting streak, batting .400 with five RBIs, one triple, one home run, and two stolen bases...will go down in history with the first triple in the modern era, a two-run bases-clearing extra-base hit in the Ducks 5-3 victory over Saint Mary’s (2/20)...also has the first home run in the modern era with a two-run shot at Saint Mary’s (2/21)...played a vital role in the Ducks’ 1-0 victory over defending national champion Fresno State (2/27) to christen PK Park...hit a two-out, full-count single, moving the eventual game-winning run to third in the bottom of the ninth...hit his second home run of the season, breaking a 3-3 tie vs. Nevada (3/13) with a two-run bomb in the sixth, helping lead the Ducks to an eventual 6-5 victory...was vital in the Ducks’ first road Pac-10 victory, a 5-3 win at California (4/18)...was 2-for-3 on the day with one run scored, two stolen bases and a sacrifice...defensively threw out a runner at the plate from right in the fourth; ran down a line drive with two runners on in the bottom of the ninth; and in the eighth, with two runners on, made a catch against the wall...at Washington State (5/11) was 2-for-2 with one RBI and two stolen bases...finished the season with two assists from the outfield.
PRIOR TO OREGON
Played the 2007 and 2008 seasons at Lower Columbia Community College winning back-to-back Western Region Championships...in 2007, finished second on the team batting .407, while leading the roster with 20 stolen bases...in 2008 more than doubled that number with 42 stolen bases...was named the 2008 Male Scholar Athlete of the Year at Lower Columbia College and was named to the Dean’s List on four occasions...during the summer of 2008 played for the Bellingham Bells of the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League...hit .217 and was 9-for-10 in stolen bases.
