Former Oregon righthander Scott McGough, now pitching in the Miami Marlins organization for the Class A Advanced Jupiter (FL) Hammerheads, has been selected to participate in the prestigious Arizona Fall League as a member of the Phoenix Desert Dogs.

In three years on the mound for Oregon, McGough compiled a career ERA of 3.33 in 135 and 1/3 innings tossed. His nine career saves ranked second all time following his stint in Eugene, while his 74 appearances on the mound are more than any other Duck in the history of the program.

McGough was Oregon’s 31st draft selection in the history of the program, elected in the fifth round (164 overall) by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2011 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. He was traded to the Marlins this past July as part of the deal that sent all-star shortstop Hanley Ramirez to the Dodgers.
