Each week O Heroes sits down with one of our student-athletes to get to know more about them on and off the field. This week’s feature is on David Wylie, a 6-5 senior righthander on the Oregon Baseball team.

Wylie is currently pursing an undergraduate degree in Political Science. While balancing academics and athletics, Wylie doesn’t fall short in having a vital impact on the Eugene-Springfield community through his work with O Heroes.

Recently, Wylie led middle school students around the Oregon Athletic Department facilities. In addition, he was a crowd favorite at Showtime last year and is referred to as the bagpipe-playing-baseball player. Wylie’s humorous attitude and dedication to the community make him a well-rounded and outstanding O Hero.

Post-graduation Wylie plans on getting his EMT certification and becoming a firefighter. After his years as an O Hero, his community efforts will continue and he will once again remain a positive influence upon wherever he ends up.
