EUGENE, Ore. – Former Oregon Ducks pitcher and first-round draft pick Tyler Anderson has been named to the Colorado Rockies top 10 prospect list by Baseball America. The magazine lists Anderson as the Rockies’ seventh-best prospect.
Anderson, the 20th overall pick in the 2011 MLB Draft, pitched last season for Ashville finishing with a 12-3 record with a 2.47 ERA, while striking out 81 batters in 120 innings pitched. He led the South Atlantic League in ERA, while finishing the season with a 1.06 WHIP.
Anderson became the highest Ducks’ draft pick since 1980 after setting a school record with 285 strikeouts during his three-year career in Eugene. He ranks third all-time at Oregon with 17 wins and his 292.2 innings pitched is second all-time. Anderson finished his final year in a Ducks uniform with an 8-3 record and a 2.17 ERA, while striking out 114 batters in 107.2 innings pitched. Anderson also held opposing hitters to a .201 average in 2012.
