COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Volleyball announced that University of Oregon junior Ariana Williams was selected from the nation’s top collegians to its National A2 Senior Program.

The middle blocker from Riverside, Calif., is among 48 collegiate players that will play in the USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships, June 25-July 4 in Dallas.

Williams and the roster will divide into four equally-balanced teams that will compete in pool play against other A2 squads and the top four Premier Volleyball League (PVL) teams.

After pool play, the four A2 program teams and PVL teams will split into their own divisions to determine the competition’s medalist teams.

The roster was selected via the U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team Open Tryouts held last February 22-24 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The tryout attracted a record 240 participants, 33 more than the previous best mark set in 2012

Williams was one of six players from the Pac-12 selected this week with Arizona sophomore libero Veronica Lewis, Utah junior outside hitter Morgan Odale, and UCLA sophomore middle blocker Zoe Nightingale, freshman outside hitter Maddy Klineman and freshman setter Rebecca Strehlow,

Looking ahead to her senior season next fall, the two-time All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention ranks top 10 career-wise for UO in hitting (third, .311) and points (ninth, 935.5). Last season she hit .334 – the fifth-best mark all-time for the Ducks in a season, and stood seventh in the Pac-12 and 84th nationally.
Altogether for the 2012 national-runner-up Ducks, she started all 35 matches, and eclipsed .300 24 times, .400 16 times, and .500 seven times. Match-wise, she topped Oregon in hitting a team-best 16 times and 14 occasions in blocks.
