Oregon Head Coach George Horton

On the day as a whole...

"What a great day of baseball here at PK Park. The first game was great and I'm elated that we came through and found a way to win. We were grinding there and Somsen was tremendous. Mr. Healy came through and Sherfy got a save - kind of like groundhogs day."

On only recording two hits...

"Their pitcher had a lot to do with that. Essentially, we were fortunate he didn't throw more strikes."

#30 Jimmie Sherfy, Pitcher

On not having pitched in a long time...

"I felt 100%. Definitely better than I usually feel. My body felt great."

#25 Ryon Healy, 1B

On his back injury...

"Just getting healthy is the biggest thing. My timing is starting to come back. I'm getting back to my swing when I was doing well. I think I finally had a Ryon Healy swing today.

#5 Jake Reed, Pitcher

On pitching on Friday...

"I knew that feeling. I knew how to prepare for a big game. I had to set the tone and I feel I did that.

South Dakota State Head Coach Dave Schrage

On the game as a whole...

"You have to give Oregon credit. They are a good team. Layne pitched well and we fought them to the end."

#12 Layne Somsen

On the finish...

"It was a not what we wanted. But I thought they might catch up to my fastball eventually. I did my best to keep them off balance."
