Oregon Head Coach George Horton

On the game...
“That was a tough ballgame but also a great ballgame. It came down to one or two crucial spots.”

On tomorrows game...
“We are not going to use any excuses we are going to continue to give it all that we have. This is all about survival so we are going to use the players we have to use and do what we can. I’m excited to see what my warriors can do.”

“[Josh] Graham will catch, that will be one change I can imagine. We need to debrief and see what will be best for us. Brett [Thomas] will start us off tomorrow and [Ryon] Healy is a bit dinged up but wants to play as well.”

On Junior Ryon Healy...
“[Ryon] Healy is a really good hitter and thinks a lot but he isn’t a machine and he will not get a hit every time. I don’t think that he wasn’t getting hits because he was over thinking, I just think Rice’s pitching was great.”

Rice Head Coach Wayne Graham

On his initial thoughts on the game...
“It was a marvelous game but I think that we hit the ball better than we scored. That’s because of Oregon’s defense.”

On looking forward to the next games...
“It is aways good to be in this position but we can’t get cocky about it at all, especially when you’re playing a team like the University of Oregon. They are a really good team and we have a lot of work to do.”

On initial feelings after the game...
“It is still sinking in somewhat, but it is definitely a nice feeling. Tonight was the biggest game of my life so far, and on top of that it was against a really great team.”
