EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon landed the sixth best baseball early recruiting class for 2014 according to the Perfect Game USA annual evaluation of NCAA Division I baseball classes. The Ducks class features 12 freshmen, including catcher Alex Jackson, the nation’s third ranked overall prospect.

Perfect Game had this to say about the Ducks’ class, “The skinny: Could lightning possibly strike twice for the Ducks? This time last year it was thought that lefthanded pitcher Matt Krook would end up signing in the MLB draft. However, Krook is now on campus and ready to compete for the Ducks in the spring. Now, the Ducks hope to strike the same deal with Jackson, who possesses an impressive 6-foot-2, 210-pound frame with some pop. Once again, the Ducks are yet another team with some impressive balance in its class.”
