Acrobatics and Tumbling Adds Seven to Program

EUGENE, Ore.-- University of Oregon head acrobatics and tumbling coach Felecia Mulkey has announced the addition of seven new Ducks to her 2013-14 roster.

Krista Phillips, Jalen Kirkland, Blaire Wilson, Jordyn Fox, Rachel Block, Taylr Keating and Taylor Turner will join the rest of the 2012 NCATA National Champions on campus in the fall of 2013.

Oregon opens defense of its title on March 2nd in a home meet against Baylor at Matthew Knight Arena at 2:00 p.m.

Krista Phillips
5-5; Base
Murrieta, Calif./Murrieta Mesa HS
Mulkey on Phillips:
“Krista is a strong tumbler. Her confidence and ability to always put her feet on the ground will make her an asset in not only the tumbling event, but also team routine.”

Jalen Kirkland
5-1; Base
Cartersville, Ga./Cartersville HS
Mulkey on Kirkland:
“Jalen is a solid all-around athlete. She will come in as a strong base and has the potential to be a stand out in that area”.

Blaire Wilson
5-7; Back Base
Scottsdale, Ariz./Arcadia HS
Mulkey on Wilson:
“Blaire’s height and strength make her a powerful back base. Due to her background in artistic gymnastics, she is a very clean and polished tumbler. Blaire has the ability to compete in several different events”.

Jordyn Fox
5-6; Back Base
Hutto, Tex./Georgetown HS
Mulkey on Fox:
“Jordyn’s tumbling technique is impeccable. The variety of skills that she brings to the table will make her an asset in the tumbling event right away”.

Rachel Block
5-3; Top
Midlothian, Va./Cosby HS
Mulkey on Block:
“We have watched Rachel improve over several years with her tumbling skills and as a top. Her work ethic and drive coupled with her athletic ability will allow her to excel in this sport”.

Taylr Keating
5-5; Base
Foothill Ranch, Calif./Trabuco Hills HS

“Taylr is a very talented tumbler with a variety of elite passes in her arsenal. Her personality and work ethic will fit right into our program”.

Taylor Turner
5-5; Base
Chesterfield, Va./Cosby HS
Mulkey on Turner:
“Taylor is an extremely strong base. She comes in with some elite acro skills that will make her an asset. Taylor is self-motivated and excited to learn, I would not be surprised if you see her in several events as a freshman.”
