Walker's Pace: Cross Country Launches Multi-Media Guide
Monday, August 31, 2009, 3:45 p.m.
GoDucks.com is proud to announce the launch of the 2009 Oregon Cross Country Multi-Media Guide. Combining video, graphics, photography and the traditional pages of the media guide, this Multi-Media Guide is the next step in web site interaction for fans of Oregon Cross Country.
One of the new features of the Multi-Media Guide: a highlight video.
It's unlike anything we've ever done at GoDucks.com. We have a great introduction from Jerry Allen, a super highlight video from Ross Krempley and our friends at Runnerspace.com, links to the bios for our coaching staff and the Men and Women of Oregon that will be constantly updated throughout the season, and of course all the results from the 2008 NCAA Championship run and our myriad NCAA team and individual winners. Check it out when you have a chance.
Meanwhile, don't forget that the two-time defending NCAA champion men and two-time runner-up women open the 2009 season on Friday with the Pre's Trail Pre-View in Eugene's Alton Baker Park.
While there will be the regular collegiate team competition at the meet with Portland State's men and women and Oregon State's women joining the Ducks, the race is also open to all competitors. Interested individuals should contact meet director Michael Reilly at firstname.lastname@example.org to request an invitation to compete. Not all requests will be granted an invitation. You may also follow this link for an entry form.
The men return All-Americans Luke Puskedra, Matthew Centrowitz, Kenny Klotz, A.J. Acosta, Andrew Wheating and Daniel and Diego Mercado. The women feature All-Americans Nicole Blood, Alex Kosinski and Zoe Buckman, plus NCAA veteran Bria Wetsch and national prep runner of the year Jordan Hasay.
The Pre's Trail Pre-View is free and starts at 6 p.m. for the women and 6:30 for the men. There will be an autograph session with the national champs and runners-up following the races.
