Travel Squad, Duck Cast
Tuesday, September 2, 11:30 a.m. PT

The Oregon Ducks depart for their first road trip of the season today at 4:30 p.m. PDT and are due to arrive in Boise at 6:30 p.m MDT. It's UO's second flight to Idaho in as many seasons, having flown into the state prior to playing at Washington State in 2008. Tomorrow night's game is Oregon's third consecutive contest as the underdog, and third in a row against a team with orange as one of its primary school colors, dating to last season.

The Ducks travel squad for their lone non-conference road game in 2009 consists of 75 players, or 11 more than is permitted for Pac-10 road trips. As has become tradition here on Duck Feed, Bobby Corser, Oregon chapter president of the American Meteorological Society, checks in with the official Duck Cast for this week's game:

"Welcome to the 2009 College Football Season! Last year, the Oregon Ducks played in almost every kind of weather known to man. Everyone remembers the rain and wind at Purdue, and most of us will never forget the constant downpour that created Lake Berkeley in the NW corner of Memorial Stadium. There were several games last season where the weather was awesome. Civil War comes to mind first of all. The 2009 Ducks will bring the good weather with them as they travel to Idaho to take on Boise State. Mostly Sunny conditions will greet the teams as they arrive at the stadium. The high will top out in the mid 80's. By kickoff, the temp will have cooled a few degrees and it will be an absolute awesome evening for a college football game. As the game progresses, the temp will continue to cool ever so slightly. Winds will be variable and light. I'm predicting good weather and a Duck victory. Go Ducks!"
