J-Will to Represent the Nation
Wednesday, January 28, 8:00 a.m. PT
Select Oregon players have participated in the East-West Shrine Game and Senior Bowl the past two weeks, but the college football season isn't over quite yet. The next postseason bowl on the docket is the Texas vs. the Nation All-Star Classic on Saturday in El Paso, Texas, and Jaison Williams will represent the Ducks.
Williams is the seventh UO player selected for an all-star game this month, joining Shrine reps Ra'Shon Harris, Nick Reed and Fenuki Tupou, and Senior Bowl alums Patrick Chung, Jeremiah Johnson and Max Unger. He will become the third Duck in as many seasons to play in the three-year-old El Paso event, following Darius Sanders in 2007 and Matthew Harper last year.
J-Will will wear No. 8 and play for legendary head coach Howard Schnellenberger. Now football boss at Florida Atlantic, Schellenberger led the Miami Hurricanes to their first national championship in 1983. All told, he has been part of four national championship staffs and two Super Bowl winning staffs, including the unbeaten (17-0) 1972 Miami Dolphins.
Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. PT with a live telecast on CBS College Sports Network. CBS College Sports is available across the country through local cable operators (locally on Comcast digital cable channel 412) and nationally via satellite on Dish Network (America's Top 200 Package - Channel 152) and DIRECTV (Premier Package and Sports Pack - Channel 613). An internet pay-per-view option will also be available at texasvsthenation.cstv.com.
