Make Way for D.J.

Last week's blog-worthy tidbit was the news that Jeremiah Masoli would be switching his uniform number from 2 to 8 for the upcoming season. Today, I'm here to break the major news that Oregon will have a new receiver wearing No. 10 in 2009. New in name, that is.
The player, a junior-to-be from Denver, Colo., is D.J. Davis. D.J.'s given name is Andrew Jahmael, but he's been more commonly known to Oregon fans as Drew over his first two years in the program. D.J. requested a change in his handle prior to the start of last season, but it slipped through the cracks.
Davis wore No. 82 as a freshman before donning Dennis Dixon's former digits last season.
Davis, who tore knee ligaments in a win over Stanford Nov. 8, may be limited a bit this spring but is expected to be fully recovered from the injury heading into fall camp.
