Each week O Heroes sits down with one of our student-athletes to get to know more about them on and off of the mat. This week we feature Erin Block, a 5-3 sophomore base on the Acrobatics and Tumbling team.
Block is working towards an undergraduate degree in General Science with a minor in Organic Chemistry. When she is not at practice or at a meet (or doing a photo shoot with Time Magazine) she is hitting the books with determination.
A superstar on the mat and in the classroom, Block also shines as an O Hero. Among other community projects, she works closely with Lane County Animal Shelter. Post-graduation, Block plans to further her education at a college of veterinary medicine in order to become a veterinarian.
One day, Block aspires to use the knowledge she will learn in veterinary medicine school to donate medical services to various animal shelters.
