The University of Oregon Women’s lacrosse team spent the Thursday before school started (Sept. 23) out at the Springfield Habitat for Humanity build site working with a crew of volunteers to create low-cost housing for local families in need.

Spirits were high as the young women were given assignments and training on how to put siding on the house. They got their hands dirty caulking, tested out their biceps hammering and did it all while being about 20 feet in the air, as they were working on outer second floor of the home.

Head coach Jen Larsen worked at the site all day with the team, and even got familiar with the electric saw, cutting siding for the players to then install. All in all, the O-Heroes of the lacrosse team continued their team tradition of giving back to the community in spite of their hectic schedule, and had some fun while doing it too. We are proud of them and encourage them to keep up the great work! Go Ducks!
