The University of Oregon community came together to collect items to benefit the flood victims of Pakistan, a country that suffered massive flooding in July of this year. The flooding devastated approximately one-fifth of Pakistan's total land area. With the help of St. Vincent DePaul, all donated items will be shipped to Pakistan just in time to prepare for the upcoming winter season.

Members of O Heroes, the Holden Leadership Center and Fraternity and Sorority Life teamed up by volunteering to receive collections on November 2nd and 3rd on campus. The volunteers greeted a steady stream of donors in an effort that resulted in filling the collections truck.

Professor of International Studies and one of the event’s main organizers, Anita Weiss, who is currently in Pakistan said, “They really need these items in hard-hit areas like Swat, Noushera and Charsadda.”

O Heroes thanks all who donated and appreciates how the entire University of Oregon community collaborated to make this event possible.
