Lena Macomson was born in Oregon but moved to Olympia, Washington before coming to the University of Oregon to play tennis. She is majoring in General Social Science with a focus in applied Economics and Business. Lena has always felt a responsibility to give back to the communities that have given so much to her and O Heroes has given her that opportunity. She saw what kind of a difference that athletes can make in the community and wanted to make sure she was in a role where she could encourage others to do the same.
When asked what her favorite O Heroes event has been, Lena said that it was participating in Quack in Action- an all day event at the Moshofsky Center where Student-Athletes mentor youth in the Eugene/ Springfield area. One of her other favorite memories of O Heroes was rehearsing with her team for the inaugural Showtime student-athlete talent show last year.
Mocomson hopes to show that O Heroes makes a difference by going outside of the Eugene/Springfield area to better the entire state of Oregon. She is excited to see the program continue to grow because she sees all of it's potential. Mocomson says there is nothing better than using her role as a student-athlete and creating a positive impact on the community as a student athlete.
