O Heroes to Host 15th Annual Quackin' Action
Release Date: 05/30/2012
Over 100 UO student-athletes will promote values on “How to Be a Good Duck” with approximately 300 elementary school students from Springfield and another 50 children from the Boys and Girls Club of Emerald Valley. The event is scheduled to run from 1-3 p.m.
The UO student-athletes will host five work stations which focus on the following: sportsmanship, nutrition, fitness, safety and teamwork. In addition, local volunteer firefighters will conduct a fire and safety presentation for students and their parents.
"What makes Quackin’ Action really special is that the student-athletes lead and organize every part of it,” said Judy Sheldon, O Heroes Program Director. “As anyone with kids or who works with kids can attest, it is quite an endeavor when working with 300 elementary school students.”
To conclude the event, the student-athletes will also have an autograph signing session.
