Each week O Heroes sits down with one of our student-athletes to get to know more about them on and off the court. This week’s feature is on Robin Cambier, a junior on the Oregon Men’s Tennis team. Robin is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Sports Business.

A native of Brussels, Belgium, Robin speaks three languages: French, Dutch and English. His talents in the classroom and on the court reflect his commitment to the Eugene/ Springfield community.

Robin is currently the Chair of the Healthy Athlete committee within SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee). A man of many talents, Robin loves to cook. He recently organized the annual “Student-Athlete Cooking Competition” where teams compete against each other in a culinary battle. He also helps manage the “Tasty Thursday” event that teaches student-athletes how to cook.

When Robin isn’t on the court, in the kitchen, or in the classroom, he dedicates his time to supporting other Duck teams at their games and volunteering in the community. Robin looks forward to uniting with Oregon student-athletes from each of the 18 varsity teams during spring term's O Heroes volunteering events.

After graduation, Robin hopes to pursue his dream of becoming a college tennis coach. Since working in the community has become a large part of his collegiate career, he wants to instill the importance of volunteering in future student-athletes.

Robin views his volunteer work as a way of saying "thank you". He is passionate about giving back to the Lane County community because of the support him and his team recieves from community members at their tennis matches. His enthusiasm for being involved in the community is contagious and empowers the local organizations he works with.
