Each week O Heroes sits down with one of our student-athletes to get to know more about them on and off the field. This week’s feature is on Kenny Bassett, a 5-9 junior running back on the Oregon Football team. Kenny is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business with a concentration in Finance.
Kenny plays an active role in volunteering throughout the Eugene/ Springfield community. As demonstrated through his involvement at the Boys & Girls Club of Emerald Valley, he is a role model to the kids he works with.
His commitment to serving local youth is also evident in his participation at last year’s Quackin’ Action event, where he helped lead station activities. In addition to his work with kids, Kenny has participated in numerous other O Heroes events. Most recently, he helped paint Willamette High School at MLK Day.
After graduation, Kenny hopes to work in the finance industry as a financial advisor. To continue his philanthropic work, he would love to coach a youth football team because he enjoys working with kids. Kenny’s passion for giving back to the community parallels the O Heroes mission, and he is a standout role model to Eugene youth.
