The talent show is set for Sunday, May 5 with a 5 p.m. (PT) start time at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene. All 19 of UO’s sports teams are scheduled to participate in the two-hour event.
Admission is $5 with all proceeds going back into the Eugene / Springfield community through future O Heroes-related service events. Tickets are available for purchase online at goducks.com. The Matt Arena box office opens at 3:30 p.m. and the arena doors will open at 4 p.m. the day of the show.
The event is made up of both live performances and previously recorded video entries with a winner selected for both categories. The video entries are played on the Knight Vision video board.
Football players Carlyle Garrick and Boseko Lokombo will serve as the masters of ceremony for Showtime 2013.
The Oregon men’s golf team (Best Video Submission) and the Oregon football team (Best Live Performance) return as the defending champions in the two talent show categories.
The golfers’ video included cameos from many UO athletes from the football, lacrosse, track & field and cheer teams, in conjunction with appearances by UO Athletic Department coaches, staff and alumni.
The football team secured first place with their act featuring players performing dances that reflected the region they come from. From the ho-down to the dougie to the Haka, the football team expressed the diverse backgrounds that make up their team.
