While plenty of attention was on the football game in Seattle ...

The Oregon soccer team's search for offense ended Sunday, when the Ducks got a goal from freshman ShayLee Minor to beat Arizona, 1-0. The Ducks (3-7-3, 1-3-1) hadn't found the back of the net since Sept. 20, having been outscored 3-0 over four previous conference games.

That run of offensive futility included a 1-0 loss Friday to Arizona State, the Ducks' third in a row by that score. Oregon keeper Abby Steele has done her part, making 4.85 saves per game to lead the Pac-12.

At Matt Arena, the UO volleyball team opened last weekend with a win over UCLA in a battle of ranked Pac-12 teams. The Ducks got 51 assists from setter Shellsy Ahsen, who is starting while Lauren Plum recovers from a lower leg injury.

The volleyball team had a tougher time of things Sunday, when Oregon was swept by top-ranked USC.

In midweek action, the men's golf team began play today in an event in Sonoma, Calif.
