BEFORE OREGON -- The first-team junior college All-American was named the Region II All-California Community College Defensive Player of the Year following his sophomore season . . . Ranked as the No. 1 junior college defensive end by ESPN.com as well as one of the top 15 JC players in the country by the news service as well as Rivals.com . . . Finished as the Vikings’ third-leading tackler (30) as well as led the California Community College Athletic Association in quarterback sacks (13) . . . Included among his single-game highlights were nine tackles (3 solo) against Santa Rosa as well as 13 stops (career-high 10 unassisted) vs. College of the Siskiyous . . . The 2012 all-Mid-Empire League selection was credited with 48 tackles (21 solo), 16 tackles-for-loss and six quarterback sacks as a JC freshman . . . Characterized as a disciplined, yet aggressive, standout who was a disruptive force along the line of scrimmage as either a down lineman or from a stand-up stance . . .
