EUGENE – The latest edition of t-shirts promoting the University of Oregon’s theme for the 2011 football Spring Game are now available exclusively through the athletics department’s official online apparel website, www.shopgoducks.com , with a portion of the proceeds from sales donated to support families of armed forces serving overseas.

For the second year in a row, the backdrop for the Ducks’ April 30 Spring Game presented by Bi-Mart will center around supporting the sacrifices the troops from around the state of Oregon have made for their country.

Cost of the shirts, which will be available in an assortment of men's and women's (and youth) sizes in either black or white, will be $27.95. The front of the shirt will feature a shield with the Oregon logo and the words “Support Our Troops,” while the back will include the phrase “Land of the Free Home of the Brave."

The Ducks hope the advance internet distribution of the Nike t-shirts will not only generate a greater interest in the final intrasquad scrimmage, which attracted a record attendance of 25,211 spectators last year, but will increase awareness for the cause of thanking the men and women in the military, and their families, for their efforts and sacrifices.

The two-hour game will kickoff at 1 p.m. in Autzen Stadium and will be televised nationally on ESPN2.

A year ago, the entire allotment of approximately 5,000 t-shirts were sold on game day, which prompted the department’s decision to expand the opportunity to purchase the shirts this season.

Admission for the Spring Game again will be three non-perishable food items, which will be donated to Food for Lane County. The local food bank has benefitted from the donation of more than 20,000 pounds of food from the final spring scrimmage each of the last two years.

Parking in the east Autzen Stadium lots, which will open at 10:30 a.m., will be $5 per automobile, with the Ducks’ Sports Shuttles also operating from select locations.
