TOWSON, Md. -- University of Oregon offensive lineman Carson York has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America second team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

A three-year starter for the No. 5 (BCS) Ducks, York carries a 3.76 grade-point average in Advertising. The academic honor is his third of the season after being named to the Capital One Academic All-District (8) and Pac-12 All-Academic first teams earlier in the year.

On the field, York has started all 13 games at left guard this season, anchoring a line that has blocked for the nation's third-ranked scoring offense and fifth-ranked rushing attack.

The Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, native is the 11th football player in school history to earn academic All-America accolades and first since Nick Reed was a first-team choice in 2008.

York aims to become one of 18 UO letterwinners to play in a third consecutive BCS bowl game, when the Ducks face No. 10 Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl Game Presented by Vizio on Jan. 2, 2012, in Pasadena, Calif.
