PERSONAL — Born Malachi Colby Jeremiah Lewis on July 26, 1989 in Eugene, Ore. Parents: Dion and Sheila Lewis. Family: One sister. High School (Coach): Rio Mesa (Bob Gregorchuck), 2007. Major: Political Science. Note: Mother, Sheila (Sattiewhite), was a four-year letterwinner on the Ducks’ women’s basketball team from 1985-88.

2010 — Posted his first scoring catch as a collegian, as well as his first reception of the year, with an 8-yard grab vs. Portland State
Had the third-fastest electronic 40-yard dash among tight ends (4.95) during winter testing.

2009 — Came off the bench in three games to catch one pass for 26 yards against California before returning the next week to add one reception for four yards vs. WSU • Stepped onto the field for 15 snaps vs. the Golden Bears and 14 against Washington State.

2008 —
Appeared in all 13 games for a second straight season, earning his first career start vs. Stanford • Saw plenty of action as a situational tight end/H-back and on special teams • Caught passes against Utah State (6 yards) and USC (5 yards) • Participated in 48 plays at Washington State and 37 at Arizona State • Team’s fastest tight end/H-back (4.82 40 time) during winter testing.

2007 — Utilized as a true freshman despite playing a position he had never played before • Stepped onto the field for all 13 games • Recovered a blocked punt in his Oregon debut vs. Houston • Caught three passes for 26 yards, including two for 21 yards against Washington State • Took part in 37 snaps vs. Arizona State, 36 at Washington and 35 vs. Washington State.

HIGH SCHOOL — The SuperPrep All-American was ranked among the top 25 linebackers in the country as well as among top 25 prospects in California • Afforded four-star status by Rivals.com and Scout.com in addition to receiving votes on the Long Beach Press-Telegram’s Best in the West tabulation • The Spartans’ career rushing record holder (3,740 yards) accumulated 1,406 yards and 23 TDs on the ground his senior year to go along with eight catches for 242 yards • Included were 345 yards rushing and four touchdowns vs. Ventura as one of his three 200-yard rushing efforts for the Pacific View League champions • The league MVP also caught two passes for 108 yards vs. Nordhoff • The two-time all-CIF sectional and all-state honoree contributed 2,187 yards and 24 TDs rushing in 2005 • Also a track & field standout as the former two-time Junior Olympian (100m, 200m) was a member of school’s fourth-place CIF state 4x100 relay finisher in 2006.
