OREGON — Few positions on a team are more
under-appreciative unless a problem attracts unwanted attention. Yet the
walk-on specialist has provided a steadying calm and consistency in the kicking
game as he completes his assignments close to perfection. Is expected to handle
all of team’s short and long snaps for the third year in a row as one of the
program’s acknowledged leaders. Has improved strength and athleticism over the
course of the last two years, increasing his squat pinnacle to 395 lbs. and his
bench press to 300 lbs.
— Continued his role as
the snapper for punts and placements almost flawlessly in all 13 games, taking
part in 12 plays vs. Portland
and 11 snaps in consecutive appearances against Fresno
Accumulated a trio of special teams tackles against the Vikings and BYU.
— Handled the long snap
and placement duties in all 12 games, including 16 plays vs. California
and 14 in the Holiday Bowl against Oklahoma.
Also recorded one assisted tackle against both the Golden Bears and Sooners,
and shared the Ducks’ special teams player-of-the-week honors at Washington
SCHOOL — The two-year letterman in football (tight end)
and baseball (OF) at Bend High School was a two-time all-league choice during his
career and a four-year scholar athlete. Led the team in receptions as a junior,
but had his best career performance against Hood River his senior season (4 catches, 79 yards, 1 TD).
